Creativity of Children

The primary school is a crucible for creative thought and action.  Unfortunately, over recent years arts and humanities teaching in schools has been eroded, Climate change is not included in the national curriculum, and the UK’s reputation for design excellence is threatened.  Creative partnerships help reverse this trend, and can:

  • Enthuse children to delight in design
  • Encourage schools to value creativity and lobby for restoration of art and design teaching
  • Engage the power of a child’s imagination to inspire innovation and ideas
  • Ease eco anxiety
  • Increase vocabulary and articulacy
  • Open up skill and career avenues

Creativity and imagination play a key role in a young child’s development. Adults also benefit from the flexibility of a young person’s fresh perspective and opinions. CCAC’s programme seeks to inspire both children and the designers they work with to understand the world better and see things anew.
